Broadleys is located in the historic High Street in East Grinstead. We have a spacious shop and have been offering formal suit hire since the 1980’s so our years of experience ensure our clients, will look their very best whatever the event.

A major advantage for our customers is that we hold our own stock .We take particular care, that the outfits you choose will fit correctly, by carrying out a proper fitting and agreeing the right size with you.

For major events like weddings and school proms we advise you to place your order as far in advance of the occasion as possible. Booking early can ensure that you have the fullest possible choice from our range.

Wedding hire

Broadleys offer the best in quality & service .You will receive individual attention and professional advice from our dedicated hire manager who will guide you through the different styles and colours available from the traditional black tailcoat to the contemporary and increasingly popular brown frock coat.

Our stock is on our premises and we hold a wide range of adult sizes and a limited range of children’s tailcoats (please check for size availability).

For weddings we will help you achieve the perfect look for the groom and his entourage by matching or complementing the chosen bridal colour scheme from our wide selection of neckwear and waistcoats.

It is a good idea to arrange your first visit so to ensure that you will be given all the time you need.

On this occasion it is helpful that only the bride and groom and either the best man or one other groomsman come. It is far easier to discuss your requirements, the chosen theme of your wedding and the available options. It will also provide you with an overall impression .The more people in attendance at the initial stage, can result in differing opinions and it can become quite confusing.

Having made your choice we will then make an appointment to fit out the rest of your party at yours and theirs convenience. Wedding parties of eight or more we are pleased to offer the groom’s outfit free of charge.

Your order is then prepared at the agreed time and is usually ready at least two days before your event. We advise customers to check and try on their suits in plenty of time so that any last minute adjustments can be made.

We have recently added the brown frock coat and a new gold and silver waistcoat with the ‘waffle design’. These designs are already proving quite popular.

Evening Functions

Hiring is a straight forward process ideally you should come in and try on a suit.

When ‘black tie ‘ appears on your invitation you will be expected to wear formal evening dress which is usually a black dinner jacket with matching trousers and a dress shirt which can be either the standard or winged collar and a black bow tie and matching cummerbund.

For less formal celebrations & parties different coloured accessories can be worn. The white tuxedo jacket is popular for cruises and summer venues instead of the black jacket.

Don't worry if you are not sure of your measurements we will carry out a proper fitting and agree the right size with you.

You may collect the suit on the day before and return it on the following day unless this is a Sunday or by arrangement with our hire manager.

Your School Proms

Your school prom night is one of the special events you will remember for the rest of your life.

Most school proms have a dress code , formal wear is often the preferred option

So if you are planning to wear a formal dinner suit it is advisable to organise the hire well in advance as there will be many other students who will want to hire on the same evening from your school and possibly other schools will have chosen the same date.
